Melanie helps prospective students planning to study dance at the college level to develop and enrich their audition solo.

To gain entrance into their program, university dance departments require the performance of a self-choreographed solo as part of the audition process. Melanie's extensive experience in higher education—being a member of college audition selection committees, mentoring college student choreography, and years of teaching at the college level—coupled with her own experience auditioning for university programs gives her a clear sense of what university-level programs are looking for in a solo.

For an audition, students have only 1 to 3 minutes to demonstrate technique, artistry, ambition and a love of dance in a solo they have choreographed themselves...often the very first solo they have ever choreographed!

Melanie's coaching will strengthen a student's audition solo increasing the opportunity for admission into their college dance program of choice.

Working with Melanie, students will:

•Better define the solo that they've made with simple choreographic tools
•Make their solo more memorable
•Increase their performance quality and confidence
•Present their piece in front of the eyes of the "other side" before the audition
•Gain insight into what the audition panel is looking for in a prospective student
